The highly anticipated Too Faced x Kat Von D Better Together collaboration has finally arrived, and I couldn’t be any more excited. Let’s be real here; when I learned that two of my favourite brands would be coming together to create on killer collection, I knew that I was going to have to check it out. Of course, it was love at first sight – especially when it came to the Ultimate Eye Collection. Read on for more details and swatches of the Too Faced x Kat Von D Better Together collection!
Now of course, I have to start with the Too Faced x Kat Von D Better Together Ultimate Eye Collection, because it’s easily the most covetable piece of the collection, and shows off a beautiful “marriage” between the two brands, combining Too Faced’s bubbly, pink personality with Kat Von D’s bold, edgy look. The heart shaped packaging actually breaks into two separate, six shade palettes. The set is finished off with a full-size Better Than Sex Mascara and Tattoo Liner.
The Too Faced side comes in a pink half heart, with shadows housed in heart-shaped cutouts, and shades that are right on par for TF. Soft, matte pink & cream shades start off this set, with a ton of pigment and no chalky feeling, followed by 4 warm, brown-based shimmers. Heart of Gold and Better Together are stunners, and BFF & Lovely totally fall into Too Faced territory. Power Couple didn’t apply as smoothly as the other shades, but will make for a nice shading shadow.
KVD’s palete takes on a bit of an edgier feel, natch, with 6 shades that balance out Too Faced’s softer look. The bold shadows are packed with pigment and will definitely be fun to play with. They’re smooth and soft when applied, with Yours, Pur Vida and Devotion giving a colour-packed, matte finish. Swoon will, quite literally, make you swoon with its unbelieveable colour payoff; one quick swipe had me blown away with its pigmentation. Lovestruck didn’t do as much for me, with super sheer colour, although it will make for a nice inner corner shade.
The set comes with minis of some fave Too Faced & KVD products (in mostly exclusive shades), making this a great set to pick up, if not just for the bag alone. KVD has included two new shades of her best-selling lip products, the Studded Kiss Lipstick in Muse and Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in XO, while Too Faced had the face covered with the Candlelight Glow Highlighting Powder Duo in Rosy Glow and a new shade of Love Flush Long-Lasting Blush in So Happy Together.
And finally, for those who just want a little sampling of the two brands, you can also pick up the Too Faced x Kat Von D Better Together Bestselling Mascara & Liner Duo, which brings together two of their bestselling products. Too Faced’s Beter Than Sex Mascara and Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner are definitely the perfect intros to both brands, so if you’re new to them and want to give them a try, this is a great way to do it!
Will you be picking anything up from the Too Faced x Kat Von D collection?

I remember the craziness surrounding the original Melted Liquified Lipsticks that Too Faced released; everyone I knew went gaga for them. The amazing pigments, smooth (but not dry) formula and crazy shades were a big sell. I’m a big fan of liquid lipsticks – these amazing hybrids combine the best parts of a gloss and lipstick for a killer product – and was definitely impressed with these when they first launched.
Riding on the success of these they recently released a new collection consisting of 8 shades that brings the ’90s foiled lipstick look to 2015. When I read this description I was a little worried. I grew up in the ’90s and there are many things from that decade that I would rather stay buried in the past, and frosted lips aren’t at the top of the list of things I would like to see revived any time soon. But hey, I’m a beauty blogger, which means I’ll try anything once… And I’m glad I did. The new Too Faced Melted MetalLiquified Metallic Lipsticks ($25.00 CAD) do have a metallic finish, but it’s anything but tacky. The microscopic shimmer gives lips a beautiful multi-faceted glow while they’re bathed in gorgeous colour. I’m not as big of a fan of the lighter/more coral shades, but the darker shades have totally won me over – I’m looking at you Jelly, Violet & Dream House (bring it on, Barbie!). Take a look at the shades below and let me know what you think!

While I’m away in Orlando, some of my fellow Canadian Beauty Bloggers have some amazing guest posts to keep you occupied. Today’s guest post comes from Miranda Chan of Miranda Loves. Read on to see her colourful look and find more from her below!
Hey everyone, first of all I want to thank Dee for hosting me on her blog while she is away on vacation 🙂 I actually just had the chance to meet her at the CND Canada event – it’s pretty amazing to be able to meet other bloggers in the CBB network face to face.
With this brutally cold weather here in Toronto, I thought that I would create a look with a pop of colour in anticipation of spring or summer. For those who know me, they will know that I typically gravitate towards neutral looks, however this year I promised myself that I would incorporate more colour into my makeup routine.
So here goes…. I know that the Too Faced x Sephora palette featured below is limited edition, however don’t let that stop you from taking another colorful shadow to create this look. The steps would be the same.. I am just teaching you how to get the best color payoff with any color you wish to incorporate. This simple trick helps the colour to stand out.
All makeup products that were used in this look are pictured here:
For the eyes, I primed with MAC Paint Pot in Painterly to help prevent creasing on the lids. Next, I applied “Licorice” on the lid, being careful not to go above the crease. This dark shadow will serve as the base where you will put your colored shadow. Doing this will make your colours stand out and pop more than just layering the colour on to your bare lid. Alternatively, you can also opt for a cream based base instead of a shadow.
Next I packed on “David & Marg” and then blended out the edges with “Mousse and Pudding” to make for a more cohesive look.
For the brow bone, I applied “Butter Pecan” and for the bottom lashes, I applied “Mousse”.
The rest of my makeup is my regular routine which you can find on my makeup look tutorials on my blog 🙂
