Can you believe today is November 17th?  I woke up this morning to a blanket of snow covering everything in sight. Including my car. And wouldn’t you know it, I couldn’t find my brush.  I’m definitely starting to get into a holiday state of mind already; yesterday included a trip to Costco to pick up a beautiful (real) wreath and huge poinsettia plant to get the decorating underway.

Hi everyone!  I just wanted to post a little personal note related to the MiB (Made In Blog) Awards.  This contest, running for the 2nd year, brings together a ton of amazing Canadian blogs in 21 different categories (a great chance to discover some fantastic new blogs and writers).  This year, I’ve decided to throw my blog into the running for the Beauty Blog category again.  The competition is incredibly tough, but I figured it would be fun to participate!

This month marks my 3rd blogiversary.  I seriously can’t believe how quickly time has flown since I started my blog in 2011.  To be honest, I had no idea what I was doing.  I started my blog as a means to explore both my love of beauty and writing.  It was a huge creative outlet for me in a time when I felt a little lost career-wise, and it quickly became a big part of my life.

In the past three years, I feel that while I have grown as a writer and blogger, my blog has had an amazing chance to grow as well.  I’ve had the chance to meet amazing bloggers (some of my best friends!), PR and beauty professionals, and even a few celebrities, all of whom I am so grateful to have met.  I’ve been able to participate in some amazing programs and experiences, from videos with Target and Polysporin, to ambassador programs with Matrix, Viviscal and P&G Beauty United.  I’ve had a chance to expand my writing through an internship with Glow Magazine and my quarterly beauty column in Lush Luxury Magazine.  I’ve fallen in (and out of) love with products.  After all this, I’m still completely head over heels for the beauty world.

And let me just say I wouldn’t be where I am without each and every single one of you who have ever stopped by to read a story, comment on a post, or send me a tweet.  Your support means the world to me, and knowing that even one person out there is crazy enough to listen to what I have to say still blows my mind to this day!  So right now, I would like to say a heartfelt thank you for believing in me and for sticking with me through this crazy journey.

Anyways, as I mentioned earlier, I’ve thrown my name into the running for the 2014 MiB Awards in the Beauty Category.  If you’ve enjoyed reading my blog (I hope you have!) I would love if you could send a vote my way.  You can check out my profile and vote for my blog through this link.  As a little bonus, Clarisonic (the sponsor of the beauty category) is giving away 3 Mia 2 cleansing devices (oh, and you know how much I love my Clarisonic) – you can enter to win on the form on the voting page 🙂

Thank you again, and here’s to many more years 🙂

Happy Monday gorgeous!   It’s going to be an exciting week here in Toronto as World Mastercard Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2015 gets under way downtown.  I’m a big fan of WMCFW and seeing all of the beauty and fashion trends that come along with it.  This week, I’m not going to be spending as much time as usual at the tents because of work, but I’ll still be there for a couple of days and will keep you updated with all of the news and upcoming trends!

I’m going to be backstage today and tomorrow to hang out with Essie, Redken and Maybelline backstage so I can get a firsthand glimpse of the upcoming hair, makeup and nail trends for SS ’15.  I’ve also got something fun going on with Redken – I’ll be checking out the looks for a few different shows and will even have a chance to have one of the looks recreated on myself – be sure to let me know which one is your favourite so I can try it out!  I’ll also be checking out the Pink Tartan, Melissa Nepton and Target shows, three of the shows I can’t wait to see!  I adore Pink Tartan, Melissa Nepton is one of my favourite Canadian designers, and do I really even have to say anything about Target??  If you were following along last year you would know exactly why I’m so excited for this show.

Make sure you’re following me on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook so you can see all of my WMCFW SS 15 coverage as the action happens on the runways and backstage.  I can’t wait to see what we have to look forward to for the Spring/Summer 2015 season and am so excited to be able to share it all with you!

Will you be checking out WMCFW at all?  Which collections are you excited for?  What do you hope to see on the runways for this season (fashion and beauty)?

"The CHANEL woman can be with herself on a beach, can be with her child, can have an aspirational and fulfilling work life, and at the same time she can have a true relationship; she can have romance," says Luhrmann. "And in the end, the CHANEL woman chooses love."

Ok guys, I had to share this because I’m so excited about it… Baz Luhrmann, the filmmaker behind some of my favourite films (Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge, The Great Gatsby) has collaborated with Chanel on a second short film featuring the iconic Chanel No 5.    Featuring the stunning Gisele Bundchen, tells the story of the modern No 5 woman, struggling to find space for everything her life and following her heart to get what she wants.

"The CHANEL woman can be with herself on a beach, can be with her child, can have an aspirational and fulfilling work life, and at the same time she can have a true relationship; she can have romance," says Luhrmann. "And in the end, the CHANEL woman chooses love."

Take a look at the teaser video below – the full film will be released tomorrow.  What do you think?
