I did it! As I mentioned previously, Dixie Outlet Mall asked me to take part in their newest She Who Hunts Finds shopping challenge. Last week I headed to the mall, armed with a $200 gift card, to see what I could find and to put together my perfect fall outfit. I had a great time checking out the deals at the different stores in the mall… You should have seen some of the deals! I was pretty blown away by the selection available and the great prices. By the end of the day, I managed to put together a killer outfit, with two top options for $200. Read on to see what I found, where I found it and what I managed to save!
Of course, I had to start off at one of my fave deal hunting stores, Winners! This was the perfect place to get started and to kick off my hunt. I managed to find the base of my outfit here, scoring two fab tops to spin my outfit around. I immediately grabbed this red plaid shirt ($25, suggested retail $40 – $15 savings) – it’s the perfect piece for the fall, bringing a casual vibe to my wardrobe. I then fell in love with this oversized sweater ($35, suggested retail $60 – $25 savings). It’s the perfect cozy sweater and I love that it’s a little versatile; it can be worn open or can be wrapped up at the neck for a warmer look. I knew I wanted a pair of jeans to go along with these and headed to Urban Planet to find a great deal on a pair. I snatched up these comfy skinny jeans ($25, suggested retail $30 – $5 savings) which when perfectly with the outfit I had in mind!
I wanted a cute bag to go along with this outfit and decided to stop by Payless when I saw a sign advertising deals on purses. This fringed crossbody ($17, suggested retail $37 – $20 savings) was super cute and an amazing deal! I also snatched up the perfect grey tank top ($3, full price – but at that price, do you even need a discount?) at Sirens to throw on under everything.
Now, since I had been so good and managed to save $65 I decided it was time to splurge a little. I’ve had my eye on these killer booties ($70) from Call It Spring and knew that this was the perfect chance to grab them – and they went perfectly with my outfit! I definitely don’t even mind that I paid full price for them since they’re the perfect booties to take me into fall.
What do you think of my Dixie Outlet Mall finds? Have you caught the shopping bug yet? Make sure you check back tomorrow for your chance to win a $200 Dixie Outlet Mall gift card!
PS. Thanks to Jenelle of Nelle Creations for taking these shot for me!
Accessorizing can be the easiest way to instantly take an outfit from drab to fab. I love playing around with new jewelry to try to spice up an outfit, and I’m so excited to announce that I’m one of Pearls for Girls’ newest ambassadors! Over the next 6 months I’m going to be sharing some of their newest pieces, some of my fave pieces, and I might even have a few little treats for you along the way.
Pearls for Girls combines Swedish design with high level craftsmanship for a line that’s natural, stylish and affordable. I really love the fact that all of the pieces in the line are made from natural materials – think freshwater pearls, semi-precious stones and crystals. This also means that the pieces have unique characteristics to them, since the natural materials will all have variations.
Up first I wanted to share a few gorgeous pieces from the core Pearls for Girls collection. The Olivia bracelets ($41) are classic, and can be easily paired with many different outfits. I love the gorgeous shine the rhinestones give off, making them sure to dazzle. Available in three different tones – silver, gold and rose gold hues – there’s one available to suit your mood. I’m personally more of a gold/rose gold fan – I think these tones work a little better with my skin tone – but I really like throwing on different combinations of these for a mixed metals look.
What do you think of the Olivia bracelets?

I was recently introduced to ça va de soi, a Montreal-based knitwear line. Since 1972, founders Antoine Nasri & Odile Bougain (along with their family) have been bringing luxurious, high quality knits to the fashion scene. With carefully selected fibers from around the world, they’ve created a line of not-so-basic basics that combine the best of quality with comfort, for items that are breathable, long lasting and able to be worn throughout any season. I’ve pulled together some of my favourite items to take you through the summer – and beyond.
1. Cozy up around the campfire with the Debbie 3/4 sleeve Jacquard Sweater. I adore the pattern and this sweater will be sure to keep you warm without getting too hot while sitting around the fire on a gorgeous summer night.
2. You can never be wedding season ready without a fab wrap scarf. The Orane Summer Scarf is beyond soft and perfect for covering up during the ceremony or afterwards when you talk a walk to cool down. This scarf may be a bit of an investment, but the “perfect cotton” it’s made of will never pill, fade or lose its sheen.
3. A great crop top can really survive throughout the year depending on how you pair it, but is especially in style in the summer. This Mireille crop fits perfect with a bit of stretch and a little discreet support for your girls, making it the ultimate beach and festival ready top.
4. There’s nothing worse than heading to the office or a fun night out during the summer looking great and having your clothes become a wrinkled mess after fighting through the heat to get there. This Delfine skirt is form fitting, lightweight and wrinkle-free, so you always look completely put together. I’m obsessed with the crochet detail!
In case you haven’t noticed, I’m all about refreshing your look for the season. That being said, I’m also a big fan of doing this on a budget. Walmart makes it easy to get a whole new look when you want to save, and challenged myself and other bloggers to put together a look for less!
I took a look at their spring lookbook (which you can view here) and loved the section on “how to make an impact!” I set out to my local Walmart with this inspiration in mind and started browsing the racks, armed with a $100 gift card.
My main goal was to put together a complete look from head to get me spring/summer ready. I started off by looking for a killer outfit to work off of and quickly found this amazing black and white striped maxi dress for only $16! It fits so nicely and is unbelievable comfortable. From there it was onto accessories. I wanted to play off of the lookbook theme I’d seen early and looked for fun pops of colour to add in to my look. I came across these fun, bright pink flip flops for $9 and these fab neon sunglasses for $9 – how amazing are the flamingos inside the arms?? Of course, I needed a purse to finish off the outfit and fell in love with this bucket bag for $16.
Now that the outfit portion was complete, I had to ramp up my beauty bag for the warmer weather. For me, warm weather makeup and beauty is all about looking and feeling fresh while being effortless. A bb cream, like this CoverGirl CGSmoothers version ($8.97) moisturizes and evens out the skintone while being light, and the NYC Sun’n’Bronze Powder ($4.97) adds a gorgeous glow on top of this. A little colour on my lids with the L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche quad in Rose Nude ($9.96) and a swipe of Maybelline’s Lash Sensational Mascara in Very Black ($5.96) – the waterproof version – gives a pretty rose look that won’t budge through pool parties. A little Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal in Crystal Kiss ($3.46) gives lips a bit of shine and moisture, and Wet’n’Wild Wild Shine polish in Tickled Pink ($1.57) is the perfect pale pink. All that’s left is to run some got2b Smooth Operator Smoothing Lustre Lotion ($4.47) through my hair to help smooth and defrizz.
All in all, I think I managed to pull together a fantastic head to toe spring & summer look for a total of $99.85 (after tax) – an amazing deal! What’s your favourite look from the Look Book?
