There are two things you need to know about me; I absolutely love false lashes and I seriously struggle to apply them. Velour Lashes recently reached out to see if I would be interested in giving their mink lashes a try and I was a little hesitant at first. I mean, was I just going to totally embarrass myself with a sad lash application. Nevertheless, I said yes, and even decided to film a YouTube video to go along with my Velour Lashes Review (oh, and make sure you keep reading because there’s a GIVEAWAYYYYYY in store for you babes!).
Velour Lashes recently rebranded (I had my first chance to see the packaging at aMurale preview a couple of months ago) & the new packaging is gorgeous and luxe. I gave the You Complete Me & Girl, You Crazy! lashes a try and my god are they ever gorgeous. The (cruelty free, naturally shedding) mink hairs are so soft and full, they really blend in seamlessly with the natural lashes for a gorgeous look. They’re also attached to a cotton band that’s a little more flexible and can be easily manipulated to follow the lash line.
They’ve also created this amazing tool, the Too Easy Lash Applicator, that honestly makes application a walk in the park. As I previously mentioned, I sometimes have trouble applying lashes, but this tool makes it easy to get a good grip on them and to really get in over your own lashes so you can set them in place where you want them.
Want to give Velour Lashes a try? I’m giving away a Velour Lashes Starter Kit ($150 value!) that includes 2 Lash sets, a Too Easy Lash Applicator and Velour Lash Adhesive so you can give these a try (and probably fall in love). Enter via the form below! Good luck!
Tired of being the girl next door? Take your look from sweet to sexy with these tips on your next night out:
Change your locks. Add a bit of colour to your hair with L’Oreal Professionnel Hairchalk ($25, available at salons). Try throwing a fun colour like pink or red into your hair. If you’re not ready to commit to a bold shade, this washes out after about 2 shampoos, so you can go a little wild without permanent colour. A bit of colour on the lower layers of your hair makes for a trendy surprise.
Mascara is one of those products that I’m constantly playing around with – it’s one of those can’t live without it type of things for me. Of course, with SO many different options out there, it can be a bit overwhelming trying to find “the one.” We all have different needs and wants when it comes to choosing this, and Revlon has decided to make things just a little bit easier with their new Mascara Portfolio!
Whether you’re looking for fullness, definition, volume, length, or a combination of these, they’ve come up with a 5 product collection that covers just about anything you could want in a mascara. This means the shopping process is simplified and you can find exactly what you want without having to go crazy over it! I’m a mascara addict, and couldn’t wait to dive in to see exactly what these could do. The colour-coded mascaras come in chic packaging, and make it easy to know what you’re reaching for in your makeup bag.
I love how each mascara has a different brush that has been specifically designed to give the look that you’re trying to achieve. I personally have lashes that are a decent length, but I want to add in some volume and max out their potential. The Revlon Volume + Length Magnified Mascara (blue cap) has become my go-to, as it plumps my lashes to look lush and full, while still adding in volume. I also really like the added volume boost I get from the Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara (pink cap).
The Revlon Mascara Portfolio is available in Black, Blackened Brown & Blackest Black (also available in waterproof formula) in the following:
Revlon Volume + Length Magnifying Mascara – A long, medium-sized but full brush coats the lashes fully to the tip, thickening as it goes.
Revlon Ultimate All-in-One Mascara – A short brush with smaller bristles, this one was a touch difficult to work with, but it really coated the lashes for the most dramatic result. This one is perfect for a night out or for lashes that need a little more oomph.
Revlon Super Length Mascara – This mascara has the thickest brush, making it easy to grab lashes from root to tip for maximum length.
Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara – this full, lush brush helps to give the lashes a thicker appearance.
Revlon Dramatic Definition Mascara – Very defined, plastic bristles help to coat and separate every lash so they really stand out.
