2018 is only a few days away and with it comes a chance for a fresh start. Like many of you, I’ve decided that fitness is at the top of my list and this year I want to make a real promise to myself to stick with it. I’m going to be turning 30 in April and I want to be in the best shape of my life – both physically & mentally, but also in life in general. Am I going to become a fitness junkie? Nah. Am I going to try to be more active, eat healthier & make small life changes to get there? Absolutely.

I’m going to go ahead and admit it – I’m not the most active person out there. Between a job that’s anything but 9-5, running the blog, attending events, and a bit of side work, I barely have time to sleep let alone get my heart pumping.

Recently, something came into my life that made a bit of a change to my activity levels – my new Polar A360 activity tracker! I’ve toyed with the idea of starting to use a fitness tracker and was honestly so excited when this pretty little device landed on my doorstep. I’ve been using it 24/7 since I received it (I only take it off when I shower), since it tracks just about everything – I’m talking heart rate, steps taken, distance traveled, sleep and even calories burned – and keeps note of everything in the handy Polar Flow portal/app.

Keeping track with Polar Flow

Since I’ve started using it, I’ve noticed that I actually start paying attention to how much I’m moving throughout the day. I’m constantly checking to see how far I’ve traveled and how much more I need to do to reach my daily goal (which was easily set in Polar Flow based on different things like my activity level, weight and height), and I’ve noticed that when I haven’t quite hit my target I’ll make sure to take a bit of a walk on my way home until I’ve made up for the missed steps.

My favourite part so far? The fact that it gives me a little nudge when I’ve been sitting for too long. Working in an office, it’s way too easy to remain sitting when I’m focused on a project, and before I know it, I’ve been sitting for an hour. It’s such a simple thing, but this reminds me to get up out of my seat and move around a little – perfect for when I’m too engrossed in what I’m doing and lose track of time!

So yeah, I guess you could say I’m loving my A360 so far. It’s easy use and keeps track of what I need exactly where I need it! Have you tried out a fitness tracker?
