Do you know what I hate? Clumpy lashes. You know what I mean; you swipe on your mascara only to find chunks of lashes that stick together. I’ll admit I’ve done some silly things to get separation, like taking pointed end tweezers to them to pry my lashes apart. The new COVERGIRL Total Tease Mascara promises long, refined lashes, so I knew I had to try it out.
The mascara, which is available in a few black + brown shades and a deep blue, does a good job of getting in close to the lashes for full coverage. The wand it dual-sided; half features a plastic, spiked brush for even coverage and the other side has a unique detailing tip with longer bristles so you can really separate and “tease” the lashes to their full length potential. I’ll be honest, the first few times I used this mascara the detailing tip freaked me out a bit. I could see it in front of my eye while I was brushing the mascara on, but I quickly got used to it.
In terms of the formula, it nicely coats the lashes and does provide nice lengthening results. You should see some of the pictures I tried to take – my lashes are so long that they actually curl at the top where the hit my eyelid! I love that aspect, but I would have loved to see a bit more volume and fullness. I already have pretty decent length so fullness is something I really like to see in my mascara. If you’re looking for a lengthening mascara though, this is a really great, affordable option; I get results similar to those that I see with Benefit’s Rollerlash Mascara.
When it comes to separation, I found that the classic mascara applicator side of the brush does a really good job on its own of fully coating and separating the lashes, but of course you do end up with small areas where the lashes can slightly clump together. The detailing tip, once you get used to it, does a really great job of separating and spacing out the lashes to help increase fullness of the lashes and give them a more defined look. I also found that this mascara has really great wear time. I can throw it on in the morning and it’s still in place at the end of the day without any flaking or traveling.
Have you tried the COVERGIRL Total Tease Mascara yet? Will you be giving it a try?

Mascara is one of those products that I’m constantly playing around with – it’s one of those can’t live without it type of things for me. Of course, with SO many different options out there, it can be a bit overwhelming trying to find “the one.” We all have different needs and wants when it comes to choosing this, and Revlon has decided to make things just a little bit easier with their new Mascara Portfolio!
Whether you’re looking for fullness, definition, volume, length, or a combination of these, they’ve come up with a 5 product collection that covers just about anything you could want in a mascara. This means the shopping process is simplified and you can find exactly what you want without having to go crazy over it! I’m a mascara addict, and couldn’t wait to dive in to see exactly what these could do. The colour-coded mascaras come in chic packaging, and make it easy to know what you’re reaching for in your makeup bag.
I love how each mascara has a different brush that has been specifically designed to give the look that you’re trying to achieve. I personally have lashes that are a decent length, but I want to add in some volume and max out their potential. The Revlon Volume + Length Magnified Mascara (blue cap) has become my go-to, as it plumps my lashes to look lush and full, while still adding in volume. I also really like the added volume boost I get from the Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara (pink cap).
The Revlon Mascara Portfolio is available in Black, Blackened Brown & Blackest Black (also available in waterproof formula) in the following:
- Revlon Volume + Length Magnifying Mascara – A long, medium-sized but full brush coats the lashes fully to the tip, thickening as it goes.
- Revlon Ultimate All-in-One Mascara – A short brush with smaller bristles, this one was a touch difficult to work with, but it really coated the lashes for the most dramatic result. This one is perfect for a night out or for lashes that need a little more oomph.
- Revlon Super Length Mascara – This mascara has the thickest brush, making it easy to grab lashes from root to tip for maximum length.
- Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara – this full, lush brush helps to give the lashes a thicker appearance.
- Revlon Dramatic Definition Mascara – Very defined, plastic bristles help to coat and separate every lash so they really stand out.
