Update: Take a look at my full-face Burt’s Bees Beauty look!

For 30 years, Burt’s Bees has been taking care of bodies from head-to-toe for 30 years now; the line has been a staple in many of our cupboards for years, with their body care products & lip balms helping to provide natural, good for you care. Over the past few years, they’ve started dipping their toes into products that are a bit more beauty-centric, and January marks the start of something new – the Burt’s Bees Beauty line, full of natural makeup products that cover all of your essential beauty needs.

They’re starting off by launching 7 products in a range of shades: mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner, brow pencils, liquid foundation, powder foundation, blush and glossy lipsticks, with more shades & products to come in the future. All of the items range from 98.9% – 100% (most in the 100% area) natural, and all are free of parabens, phthalates, SLS, petrolatum, talc, synthetic fragrances and silicones. There’s just something so reassuring about knowing what you’re putting on your delicate skin. I had a chance to meet up with the Burt’s Bees team a couple of months ago to learn about the line and it was really refreshing to hear about the ingredients that go into making these.

I love how they stayed true to their roots and kept the honeycomb motif throughout the packaging; the face products & eyeshadows are all housed in honeycomb-shaped compacts, while you’ll notice it sprinkled throughout the rest of the packaging and even imprinted on the powders.

Anyways, I know you’re itching to learn more about what you’ll find in the collection, so read on to learn more about the products and see below for swatches! I’ll also be uploading a video to YouTube next week showing you a full face look using these Burt’s Bees Beauty products.

For the eyes, Burt’s Bees has really covered their bases with this initial launch. You have a little bit of everything, with shadows, liner, brows and mascara all included in the lineup. Their eyeshadows come in sets of three shades, all of which are mineral-infused and safe enough to use on sensitive eyes. The shades are really beautiful – four different palettes available – and work nicely together to create a gorgeous eye look. I’ve been loving Countryside Lavender but really want to get my hands on Blooming Desert, which has a gorgeous coppery shade. To go along with the shadows, they’ve also introduced three fade-resistant eyeliners, which are available in Midnight Gray, Soft Black and Warm Brown. They’re smooth and soft and glide on nicely to create a beautiful line.

To finish off your eye look, the Nourishing Mascara in Classic Black and Black Brown is the perfect next step. This mascara helps to lengthen the eyelashes and contains Jojoba Oil to help nourish while you wear. This mascara is, again, great for anyone with sensitive eyes and those of us who wear contacts.

Finally, of course, they couldn’t forget about the brows. Available in blonde and brunette, these pencils fill in the brows with soft colour; the formula is almost powdery, making it perfect for application & then a brush through to disperse and give a more natural finish.

For the face, Burt’s Bees Beauty has a few options that will help to give your skin a healthy, natural look. They’ve created two different foundations and a powder blush for a gorgeous complexion. One of my favourite products, the Goodness Glows Liquid Makeup (available in 12 shades), is really one of the stars of the line. This medium-full coverage foundation is light on the skin and surprisingly moisturizing; no cakiness here and you can definitely build the coverage to a level that you want. It has a bit of a dewy finish that really does leave your skin with a nice glow.

To go along with this, they’ve also created a Mattifying Powder Foundation (available in 6 shades), which helps to control shine and, again, offers light-medium buildable coverage. It has a really soft, matte finish on the skin, and I find it actually works really well as a setting powder after using the liquid foundation if you prefer more of a matte finish.

To add a little colour and warm up your face, you can reach for the powder blush (available in 3 shades), created with bamboo & honey and infused with minerals for a healthy-looking glow. It’s definitely buildable and I find applies seamlessly, blending in really nicely.

In the past couple of years, Burt’s Bees has definitely seen success with the introduction of coloured lip products. This year, they decided to add more to their lipstick lineup with these new Glossy Lipsticks, available in six pink & nude shades. They’ve been created with moringa oil and red raspberry seed oil to provide nourishment to the lips. They feel really nice on, with fairly light colour and a slightly glossy finish.

Who else hates dry lips? There’s no way that I’m alone on this one – especially with mistletoe season upon us. One thing I can guarantee is that I’ve always got a lip balm of some sort on me, whether it be in my purse, on my desk or bedside table, hidden away in my office or tucked away in my car. Chapped lips are a huge faux pas for me. They feel and look terrible, and make for some truly brutal lipstick swatches.

One brand that I’ve found I can always trust when it comes to keep my lips feeling soft and looking smooth is Burt’s Bees. Their deeply nourishing balms, which are packed full of coconut and sunflower oils in addition to tons of vitamins and essential fatty acids, are exactly what I need this time of year. They’re super rich, and give my lips a very generous dose of hydration right where I need it so my lips are pucker ready all the time.

I also LOVE the flavour selection! With the addition of their latest flavour, Apple Caramel (which is delish!), the range offers 8 different flavours so you can pick and choose to suit your mood. In addition to Apply Caramel, the Burt’s Bees Lip Balms are available in the Original Beeswax version, Pink Grapefruit, Pomegranate, Coconut & Pear, Vanilla Bean, Honey and Mango. I mean really, how are you supposed to choose?

Well… Maybe you don’t have to. My pals at Burt’s Bees know how important having soft lips is this season, and they’re going to hook one of you up with the complete Burt’s Bees Lip Balm collection – yes, all 8 flavours! Are you ready to uncap flavour?

To enter to win, follow me (@linerglttrgloss) and Burt’s Bees (@burtsbeesca) on Instagram , give this picture a like and tag a friend who you would share your stash with. The giveaway will end at 5:00 PM est on Tuesday, December 15th and is open to Canadian residents. Good luck!

After some issues last month, I was eager to see what this month’s GlossyBox would contain.  It showed up in my mailbox yesterday – take a look below.  Interested in signing up for GlossyBox?  You can save 10% off your first box with the code GLOSSY8!  Also, a little something special to note – next month is their “birthday” after a full year of Glossy goodness – I’m wondering if next month’s box might be a little extra special.

Wella Professionals Brilliance Leave In Mousse for Colored Hair (FULL SIZE! $17.99/190 g) – really glad to see a product that fits my beauty profile this month – I dye my hair, and have  to be pretty careful to use products that are for coloured hair.  This mousse claims to be lightweight, which is great – my hair has a tendency to fall flat, and hopefully this will help perk it up!

Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme (not sure of sample size – full size = $28.00/.2 oz) – This is a little teeny sample – I almost missed it!  That being said, it does actually have a surprising amount of product in it once you start using it.  I was really excited to see Too Faced included in this month’s box – it was nice to see a bit of a change up in brands!

Burt’s Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk & Honey Body Lotion (25 g sample, full size = $12.99/170 g) – I’m always happy to receive Burt’s Bees products in beauty boxes – I’ve always had really good experiences with them in the past.  This sample is a nice size for travelling and is going right in my purse.

Nivea Essential Lip Car (FULL SIZE! $2.00) – Not an overly exciting sample, but it will still be put to good use.

GlossyBox Best in Moisture – Ahava Mineral Hand Cream (20 ml sample) – for this box, GB decided to send out some of their favourite moisturizing products from their first year.  I received the Ahava Mineral Hand Cream which I have used before and loved.  This sample is the perfect purse-size!

Beauty So Clean Cosmetic Sanitizing Wipes (12 wipes, full size = $12.50/48 wipes) – I’ve been using Beauty So Clean products for a while now, and it’s always nice to have more – they’re great for sanitizing makeup to make sure it is clean and safe to use.

I thought this month’s box was just ok – nothing too exciting for me, but I am really looking forward to trying out the Wella Professionals mousse.  I am excited for next month’s birthday box – hopefully it will contain some nice surprises!  If you’re interested in signing up for GB, don’t forget to save 10% off your first box with the code GLOSSY8!

GlossyBox time!!  It came in about 2 weeks ago but I unfortunately haven’t had time to upload this post yet or I would have! This is the beginning of my catchup time, and I think it’s going to end up turning into beauty box week – I also received my Julep box at the end of last week and should be receiving my Topbox today, so look out for those as well! (Accept my apologies for the poor quality pics – I didn’t have my camera on hand!)

Here’s what I received in my July Glossybox:

Dove Softening Creme Body Wash (FULL SIZE – $5.99) – I love Dove body washes, I’m just going to come right out and say it.  They are so creamy and I find them to be one of the most moisutrizing lines out there, so I’m looking forward to trying this one out.  I’ll have to try to keep this one out of my brothers’ hands – they go through my body wash like Niki Minaj goes through ridiculous outfits.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Sheer Solution (10 mL sample – full size $14.99/60 mL) – Unfortunately, my sample managed to break open and leak out while it was being shipping resulting in a half empty sample and a bit of a sticky mess.  That aside, this is a nice lightweight serum which is perfect for controlling summer frizz.  I’m really glad that it’s not too heavy as my hair is pretty fine and gets weighed down easily.

Alessandro International Pedix Feet Heel Rescue Balm (20 mL sample  – full size $19.95/100 mL) – Alessandro is a new company to me, so this was nice to find in the box.  This foot cream has a nice, fresh peppermint scent and nice texture.  Great for keeping feet sandal-ready!

Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer in Plum (FULL SIZE – $5.99) – I’ve come to be a big Burt’s Bees fan lately, so I was happy to add this to my collection.  At first I wasn’t so sure this colour would suit me, but it’s not too dark and is actually very pretty on.

Zoya Nail Polish in Kimbra (FULL SIZE – $8.00) – I’ve really been wanting to try Zoya polish for a while now, so this was a nice little surprise.  Kimbra is a gorgeous dark pink colours with tiny gold flecks in it – so pretty!

BeautySoClean Sanitizer Wipes (4 wipes – full size $12.50/48 wipes) – I have used these before and they are fantastic – great for sanitizing your products and smaller brushes!)

Interested in signing up for GlossyBox? You can save $1.50 off your first box by using the code GLOSSY8!
