All aboard the dry shampoo train! I’ve relied on this stuff for years to help perk my mane up when it’s feeling a little dirty or flat for a few reasons:
Dying my hair red means that the colour fades pretty quickly. Less washing = longer lasting colour.
Sometimes I’m just too damn lazy to put in the time and effort to wash, dry and style my hair.
I occasionally don’t feel like getting out of bed when my alarm goes off.
I really like how my hair has been styled and want to keep it going, but need a little boost.
It’s an amazing time saver and really comes through when you don’t have time to wash & style your hair before heading out the door. Today I’m sharing what I think is the best way to use dry shampoo (and a few of my faves below).
Now that you’ve learned about the best way to use it, take a look at a few of my favourites:
Weekends were made for the warm weather. Time spent at the cottage, camping and road tripping means you need to pack smart so you can get going and make the most of our beautiful summers. Get ready to head out with our weekend getaway essentials.
Even though chances are you won’t be wearing a ton of makeup, don’t forget to take it all off (yes, that includes sweat & anything else the elements throw at you) at the end of the day. Klorane Makeup Remover Biodegradable Wipes with Soothing Cornflower ($11) are gentle but leave your skin feeling clean and fresh, so you have no excuse when you don’t have a full washroom at your disposal.
If you’re only heading out for a night or two and don’t want to worry about washing, drying & styling your hair, dry shampoo is a must. Batiste Lotus Dry Shampoo ($9) smells great and leaves your hair feeling clean and refreshed without and heavy residue.
Don’t feel like bringing all of your full-sized products along? Pack your fave shampoos, conditioners and body washes into reusable bottles (like those in the Avon Be Inspired Travel Set, $20) for easy packing and use. When they start to empty out, just top them up and use them for all of your weekend adventures.
When it comes to packing, you want to make sure that you have a bag that’s easy to carry and holds everything you need; bonus points if it looks cute. The Getaway Bag from Poppy & Peonies ($125) is the perfect size for a weekend getaway and comes with a matching cosmetics bag to throw your toiletries in.
Whether you’re spending a couple of hours in a car or lounging around the campfire, weekend wear is all about stylish comfort. You’ll feel great taking a walk on the beach or a hike with a sporty crop top like this one from Hyba ($40 – and I totally went out and bought it as soon as it hit stores!), and the Myria dress ($54) from MEC is perfect for both travel and looking cute when you arrive at your destination.
What do you bring along for weekend getaways during the summer?
