I might not be ready to admit that summer is winding down, but it is. When the CNE is only a couple of weeks away, it’s a surefire sign that September is just around the corner, which also means back to school for many of us. I’m not heading back to school (a couple of online courses don’t count) but I still get excited thinking about BTS shopping – it was always one of my favourite things to do this time of year. Anyways, if you’re heading off for the first time or going back, check out my list of back to school essentials that will definitely make this year one to remember.

I’m notorious for having several notebooks on the go, which doesn’t always end so well. I’m totally coveting the  Rocketbook reusable notebook because it’s so cool. You write on the pages and scan the code on the page to upload everything you’ve just written (or doodled) to your computer so you have everything safely stored and organized. The pages wipe clean so you can use them again and again.

Of course, you’re going to need a backpack to lug your laptop and textbooks around in. I always love shopping for backpacks and totally go for cute (and functional) styles, like this Tibes Backpack, that makes bringing everything around with me that much easier.

Comfortable, stylish kicks are a must for getting around campus, and let’s face it, at some point you’re going to end up being late for class or an exam and will need to hightail it from one side to the other. Grab a cute pair of sneakers, like these Keds Sneakers, for comfortable days spent in classes.

While yes, school is technically about academics, it also has a major social side to it. Print all of the snaps you capture at parties and events in an instant with the HP Sprocket Portable Photo Printer so you can decorate and remember it all. I so need to get one of these!

We all know that school can get a little stressful, especially around exam time. If you’re living off campus and have a tub you can use, take some time to dstress when things get a little hectic with a bath bomb and keep your skin in check with The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Wash.

When you’ve been up all night studying or finishing an essay chances are you won’t have a lot of time to get ready to go before you head out the door. Get rid of bedhead in a flash with the InfinitiPro by Conair Hot Ionic Straightening Brush which quickly straightens and smooths the hair as you run it through your locks.

Oh, by the way, students get a free 6-month trial for Amazon Prime, and after that it’s 50% off – totally worth it, IMHO. What are you shopping for for your back to school essentials this year?

Back To School Beauty

Back to school, back to school… The time of year that parents wait for all summer and many (but not all) of us dread.  Going back to school means a new year and a new start, especially for those of you going away for college or university.  To help your school year go by a little easier on the personal side, I’ve compiled my list of back to school beauty  – my perfect essentials to help you look and feel your best!

So, what do we have on the list?

1. Batiste Dry Shampoo – When you’ve got exams to study for and essays due, chances are you’re going to end up pulling some all-nighters throughout the school year.  Of course, you’re not going to want to run out of the house looking like you haven’t had a chance to shower or sleep which is where this comes into play.  Spaying on some dry shampoo will help soak up any oil or build up and keep you looking fresh.  And hey, you might be able to trick your prof into thinking you didn’t stay up all night writing your essay the night before it was due.

2. CoverGirl Lipslicks Smoochies Lip Balm – Going to class wearing a full-face of makeup is probably not something that’s going to end up happening too often – chances are you’ll be rushing from class to class, rushing to class after sleeping in, or just too tired from working hard to worry about it.  I love this lip balm because it kills two birds with one stone.  It not only helps to keep your lips soft and moisturized, but it gives you a hint of colour to perk up your pucker, which is perfect for when you do run into that cute football player on campus.

3. Vichy Normaderm Hyaluspot – We all know that stress can cause breakouts, and when you’re dealing with deadlines and exams worth a good chunk of your final mark that mean stress monster is going to rear its ugly head.  This is my go-to spot treatment right now – I dab a little on a problem spot at night before I go to bed and by the morning I can easily cover up whatever’s left!

4. Nivea Free Time Shower Cream – This shower cream is the perfect de-stresser when you just need to relax a little.  It has a really luxurious, creamy texture and smells so amazing.  I like to lather this up with a loofah so I can get a really nice scrub in while I wash.

5. Neostrata Moisture Infusion Cream – For those of you who like to participate in some, ahem, extra-curricular activities that run late into the night (what’s college without a little partying?) moisturising should be at the top of your list.  Dehydrated skin is never pretty, so an intensely moisturising face cream is something you’re really going to want to consider adding to your beauty routine.

6. Secret Clinical Mean Stinks Fearlessly Fresh Advanced Solid – I’m going to bring back the stress monster once again.  Stress sweat is the worst smelling sweat which means you’re going to want to find a deodorant that specifically targets this for the best results.  This antiperspirant helps to combat the wetness and scent of sweat so you don’t have to worry about it.

There you have it – my back to school beauty picks.  What are yours?

Some of you may have noticed on Twitter and Instagram that I was working on something exciting with TargetU by Kotex and Glam Canada.  Well, that little something was a back to school style video featuring great (affordable!) fashions & beauty products from Target and feminine products from U by Kotex.  The video has finally arrived and I wanted to share it with all of you!  Take a look below, and let me know what you think in the comments section – hopefully you can get some back to school style inspiration!
