When’s the last time that a wild beauty invention got you excited? For me, new innovations that have a bit of a tech angle to them really interest me; I love seeing how expensive treatments can be transformed into something that people like you and I can use at home without having to worry about the hefty price tag. The Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask is one of those.
Neutrogena recently came out with this futuristic, Tron-esque mask that has been designed to help prevent acne and breakouts before they start. As I’m sure you’re aware, the brand has been around for years and is definitely known for their skincare line that helps to prevent and treat breakouts, so a product like this only makes sense.
Light therapy isn’t anything new; dermatologists have been using this form of therapy for years in order to help treat those with acne and breakouts. These treatments are great but they can get pretty costly and are a little out of reach for many of us. Add in the time that it takes to go in for these and it’s definitely a bit of a hassle. Neutrogena has managed to take this type of skin therapy and they’ve turned it into some accessible for everyone and made for every day use, which means you can see results pretty quickly!
The mask uses light science to treat the entire face at once, in ten minute periods, to help prevent breakouts at the start. It’s gentle enough to be used daily, and actually gives you a bit of a reason to take a few minutes out of your day to relax – throw the mask on and read a book or watch one of your favourite shows (Fuller House season 3 dropped yesterday ;)). The mask uses both red and blue light technology to make sure that multiple areas are covered. The red light is used to reduce inflammation of the skin and redness while the blue light helps to target and deal with the bacteria that causes acne in the first place. The mask is great for people who experience breakouts in many sections throughout the face since it is used all over! I’ve been using it for about a month know and have actually noticed that my breakouts have been fewer than normal and definitely lighter than before.
The Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask is really quick and easy to use too. The mask itself can be used over and over and comes with an activator which lasts through 30 treatments – a month’s worth if you use it every day. When you’ve finished with it, you can recycle the activator by sending it in (you can generate a pre-paid shipping label to use here).
What’s the last beauty tech innovation that you were excited about?
