Can a girl every really have too many eye shadow palettes? Judging by my collection, the answer is no. I hope. The latest addition to my collection is the Sephora PRO Cool Palette. With these (also available in Warm shades and Editorial shades), Sephora set out to create high performance palettes that can be used by makeup artists and enthusiasts alike.

Lately I’ve tended to gravitate to rosier hues, which makes the Cool palette the perfect match for my beauty routine. Each palette contains 28 pigmented shades – quite the collection. This allows for a lot more versatility within the palette and the ability to create many different looks. Having all of these shades in one convenient palette is a big sell for me, as I like to play around with different variations on looks. The shades combine matte, shimmer and satin finishes for even more versatility.

I found that the matte shades are a bit powdery, with a few of the lighter shades being a little chalkier, but they do apply really smoothly and I find that this works a little better for blending, especially since they are quite pigmented. The satin shades are absolutely gorgeous and have a ton of pigment. They’re almost creamy in application and I love how these wear. The “sparkly” shades, Seashell and Moon, were a bit of a disappointment. I found that they lacked pigmentation and the sparkle didn’t really work, as you can see in the swatches below.

And guys, I really just have to rave about the second row of shadows (Ballet – Croquis) because for me, they are the stuff that dreams are made of. They’re all seriously gorgeous shades and flow together so nicely – this row could be a smaller palette all on its own.

Overall, I’m super happy with the Sephora PRO Cool Palette. Aside from a couple of shade misses, they’ve really put together a beautiful, cohesive palette – not always an easy feat when you have 28 shades to work with. They’re fully pigmented and rich and make for some gorgeous looks. Have you tried any of the Sephora PRO Palettes?
