Well, it looks like Benefit’s hit The Porefessional now has a butt-kicking sidekick – Benefit The Porefessional Agent Zero Shine.  Since Benefit first introduced The Porefessional, which minimizes the appearance of pores, it has become a favourite of beauty lovers everywhere… And I have a strong feeling this new addition to the family will follow quickly in its footsteps.

The Porefessional Agent Zero Shine is a whole lotta magic wrapped up in a convenient, purse-sized container.  This loose powder was designed to minimize shine, and when used in conjunction with the Porefessional, results in skin that looks oh-so-smooth and clean. It also comes in what is actually the most convenient packaging ever.  I think we’ve all had powder mis-haps in our purses and it’s never fun.  Well, this packaging makes it virtually impossible to make a mess.  The powder dispenser has a lock feature so nothing comes out when you don’t want it to, while the brush tucks away into the bottom of the tube while not in use.  Benefit, my purse thanks you already.

Now, I’m not a super oily girl, but I do have a tendency to get a little shiny throughout my t-zone within a few hours of going out or applying my makeup – and no one wants that.  I constantly find myself carrying around powder in my purse.  Anyways, I decided to give this a try once the shininess hit to see how well it worked.  After unscrewing the lid and pouring a bit of the powder into it, I used the included brush to buff it into my skin.  At first, I was worried about how it would show up on my skin (I mean, I’m pretty damn pale at this point in the winter) since it does have a nude-toned colour.  Honestly, I had nothing to worry about – this powder become virtually invisible once it’s applied to the skin.  It doesn’t give any colour if you’re worried about it matching your skin tone.  Then I noticed how well it worked.  This stuff seriously sucked up the shininess and left my skin looking matte and almost glowing.  Not only that, but the effect lasted.  5 hours later and it was still going strong, without a hint of the shine-monster coming back out to wreak havoc on my face.

So, the verdict?  If you’ve got some shine on your face that you need to kill, the Porefessional Agent Zero Shine is going to make a lovely addition to your purse/beauty routine.  I can’t speak for those of you with oily skin, but for someone who borders on combination, this definitely does the trick.

  • I tend to have pretty dry skin, especially in the winter, but this sounds like something that I may give a go once warmer weather hits.

Kudos to them for coming up with a handy design (everything spills in my purse and I hate cleaning it!). Anyways this sounds like something that would help me a lot when the warmer weather comes along, thanks for the review.
