Schick Hydro Silk Disposables + Giveaway

Schick Hydro Silk Disposables

I’ve always been a bit apprehensive when it comes to disposable razors – when I think of them, I have visions of little plastic 2 blade razors that always seemed to result in some unsightly cuts and nicks for my little 13 year old self… Not a pleasant experience.  When I heard about the new Schick Hydro Silk Disposables I was intrigued but still a little wary to say the least.  I’ve always had a really good experience with Schick razors (the Quattro is my number one pick) and was interested to see if they could change my views on disposable razors.

The Schick Hydro Silk Disposables ($13.99 for a pack of 3) are based on the top selling razor technology of the original Hydro Silk Razor which came out last year.  With 5 curve-sensing blades (seriously, I never thought I would see 5 blades on a disposable razor), a water-activated moisturizing serum, unique skin guards and an ergonomic handle, these razors promise a silky-smooth shave for the woman on the go, no matter where they are.

I have to say I have been really happy with my experience so far.  The 5 blades provide a nice, close shave that left my legs hair free.  I will not that the blades didn’t seem to glide as smoothly as they would with a regular Hydro Silk razor – that being said, they didn’t pull or tug and I wasn’t left worrying about getting any small cuts while I shaved.  I really am a fan of the moisturizing serum as well.  It adds in a nice level of moisture that makes the shave a little smoother as the legs stay lubricated and soft.  I have to say I am really impressed with the shave I got from these razors – not something I ever thought I would find myself saying about a disposable.  I think these would make a great temporary addition to my beauty routine – perfect for trips or for throwing in my gym bag.

Now it’s your turn – I want to know what you think about these razors as well!  I’m going to pick 15 of you to be my review panel – Schick will send you your very own Schick Hydro Silk Disposables to try out.  Once you’ve had a chance to give them a try, all you have to do is send me a quick review with your thoughts (they will be shared here on the blog).  The best part?  Just for sending your review in, you will be entered into another draw for a chance to win a $50 Visa gift card.  Sounds pretty great, right?  All you have to do is enter via the Rafflecopter form below.  This giveaway is open to Canadian residents only.  Good luck!

One more thing I want to mention – if you feel like lady luck is going to be smiling upon you soon, you might want to head to the Schick Hydro Silk Canada Facebook page.  They’re currently running their Show Your Legs Some Sun contest, where you have a chance to win a fab getaway with your bestie to one of three amazing tropical locations.
