It’s finally here! What is arguably the most anticipated collection between a cosmetic company and a collaborator has finally landed. The Lancome Show by Alber Elbaz Collection will be available in stores worldwide in just 2 days – June 15, 2013, and I personally could not be more excited for it. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a few pieces of the collection, and wanted to give you your first look before it hits stores in just a few days.
This collection is all about the eyes, with big, bold lashes and bright eyes being the focus. For this collection, Elbaz redressed four of Lancome’s iconic mascaras, covering them with polka dots, hearts and stars. Also included in this collection are the new Hypnose Eye Palettes (also with the same designs) and – take a deep breath – FALSE EYELASHES. This isn’t a joke. Lancome has finally introduced their first set of false eye lashes (what better collection to do so with, right?) and they are stunning. Read on for pictures of the products (both my own and pictures of the full collection) and more information on the collection.
This collection sees the reimagining of 4 of Lancome’s most iconic mascaras – Hypnose Doll eyes (pictured above, decorated with flirty hearts – for lashes that are broader and longer), Hypnose Star (decorated with, you guessed it – stars – for the ultimate in definition), Hypnose Drama (polka dots set this one apart – for an intense look, volume and separation rule) and the original Hypnose (big lashes on this one! Lashes get thicker with every stroke).
Of course, bold eyes need perfect shadows to go along with them, which is why Lancome and Alber Elbaz decided to create 3 new Hypnose Palettes & shadows designed around the mascaras. Each palette – the Hypnose Doll Eyes Palette (fresh & natural shades), Hypnose Star Eyes Palette (chic & elegant) and the Hypnose Drama Eyes Palette (intense & smoky) – pair 5 shades which can be combined wet or dry to create a beautiful look. The palettes also include magnetic (you don’t have to worry about these falling out and getting lost) tools for precise application. Also included are 3 new high luminosity monos – the Ombre Hypnose Doll Eyes, Ombre Hypnose Star Eyes and Ombre Hypnose Drama Eyes – which perfectly suit each style.
And finally, the piece de resistance – Lancome Show by Alber Elbaz False Eye Lashes. Yep, they’re beautiful, they’re soft and they come in a gorgeous collector’s box. For me, this is absolutely the most exciting part of the collection (although I’m equally enamored with the rest of it) – it really is the cherry on top. As this is a first for Lancome, I’m sure it will be something really nice to add to your collection. I’m not even sure if I want to wear mine or just stare at them!
And here’s the best part… I’m going to be giving away a few pairs to lucky readers. Make sure you stop by my giveaway page in the next few days for your chance to win!
So there you have it – the Lancome Show by Alber Elbaz. I can already tell this limited edition collection is going to be a huge hit… And I really might have to get my hands on the rest of it. Let the show begin!
