EU Ban on Animal Testing

Leona Lewis The Body

Good news – the EU has gone cruelty-free as of today!  From now on, companies looking to sell products in the EU must not test on animals anywhere in the world.  Just another step on the path to ending animal testing worldwide!

The Body Shop (and new brand activist Leona Lewis – more on this below) has always been a big advocate of cruelty free cosmetics, and together with Cruelty Free International they would like your help to take the cruelty free ban worldwide.  To do your part, you can sign the cruelty free pledge at any Body Shop store or online at www.crueltyfreeinternational.org/telltheworld.  The pledges are going to be presented to governments and stakeholders around the world to show the support for cruelty free products.

Leona Lewis, animal lover, long-time vegetarian and award-winning singer is the newest brand activist to collaborate with The Body Shop, following in the footsteps of Lily Cole (did you check out her Body Shop Collection?  I’m still in love with it).  Joining in the fight against animal testing is one of her first steps as a brand activist.  Her Limited Edition Collection will hit The Body Shop stores on April 15, 2013 (just in time for my birthday… I think it’s a sign!), and if it’s anything like her predecessor’s collection I can guarantee it will be amazing.  I will update you when I have more information on what will be included!
