The Big Reveal: January 2013 GlossyBox

After some issues last month, I was eager to see what this month’s GlossyBox would contain.  It showed up in my mailbox yesterday – take a look below.  Interested in signing up for GlossyBox?  You can save 10% off your first box with the code GLOSSY8!  Also, a little something special to note – next month is their “birthday” after a full year of Glossy goodness – I’m wondering if next month’s box might be a little extra special.

Wella Professionals Brilliance Leave In Mousse for Colored Hair (FULL SIZE! $17.99/190 g) – really glad to see a product that fits my beauty profile this month – I dye my hair, and have  to be pretty careful to use products that are for coloured hair.  This mousse claims to be lightweight, which is great – my hair has a tendency to fall flat, and hopefully this will help perk it up!

Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme (not sure of sample size – full size = $28.00/.2 oz) – This is a little teeny sample – I almost missed it!  That being said, it does actually have a surprising amount of product in it once you start using it.  I was really excited to see Too Faced included in this month’s box – it was nice to see a bit of a change up in brands!

Burt’s Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk & Honey Body Lotion (25 g sample, full size = $12.99/170 g) – I’m always happy to receive Burt’s Bees products in beauty boxes – I’ve always had really good experiences with them in the past.  This sample is a nice size for travelling and is going right in my purse.

Nivea Essential Lip Car (FULL SIZE! $2.00) – Not an overly exciting sample, but it will still be put to good use.

GlossyBox Best in Moisture – Ahava Mineral Hand Cream (20 ml sample) – for this box, GB decided to send out some of their favourite moisturizing products from their first year.  I received the Ahava Mineral Hand Cream which I have used before and loved.  This sample is the perfect purse-size!

Beauty So Clean Cosmetic Sanitizing Wipes (12 wipes, full size = $12.50/48 wipes) – I’ve been using Beauty So Clean products for a while now, and it’s always nice to have more – they’re great for sanitizing makeup to make sure it is clean and safe to use.

I thought this month’s box was just ok – nothing too exciting for me, but I am really looking forward to trying out the Wella Professionals mousse.  I am excited for next month’s birthday box – hopefully it will contain some nice surprises!  If you’re interested in signing up for GB, don’t forget to save 10% off your first box with the code GLOSSY8!

I heard the Wella mousse has a expiration date on the bottom and a lot of people got expired ones.
And that this product you can find it at dollarama now.
Glossy also gets a lot of their samples on ebay from people who sell discontinued things.
I looked up the replacement samples they just sent me and all discontinued, expired…only sold on ebay.
    So sad.

maybe it should be renamed Garage Sale box??

    • Uh oh, not again! My mousse has an expiration date of October this year so I guess I got lucky this time around. I really hope that they can deal with these issues and start picking the box back up again – when it started up until a couple of months ago it was hands down my favourite beauty box, but lately it has been slipping. I have really been enjoying Ipsy – they have a lot of higher end brands and really nice samples, you might want to check them out.

Glossybox is also banning anyone who says anything bad from their facebook and has ereased all the comments about the expired samples from their website.
